Dinghy Regatta 2011

Regatta Report

The RYYC Dinghy Regatta Series was scheduled to have 3 races on Sunday and 3 on Monday. However, bad weather prevented any racing on Sunday, but 4 races were sailed on Monday.

The Family Fun Day on Saturday was a great success and was well attended. Unfortunately the weather prevented us getting on the water with the children but they enjoyed it all the same. The Club event bar was open at lunch time and the BBQ was lit, all enjoyed the afternoon.

In the afternoon the Catapults got 2 races in.

There was a great atmosphere at the club over the weekend with a social evening and Buffet at the main club on Saturday for our members and the catapult helms and families.

Sunday's racing was attempted but the conditions were too much and the racing was abandoned before the catapults started the first race.

A social evening was held in our clubhouse with the bar open from lunchtime and the remains of the buffet put out free of charge to the ones who had the nibbles.

Monday saw the Catapults have 2 races and in for lunch with their prize giving afterwards for the 4 races they held. Over all a great weekend but sadly Dart numbers on the water were down.
