Report on Dart 18 Worlds from Steve & Tina Waterall

We had a great time and both our darts are back in the compound safely with no major damage thank goodness.

We sailed a total of 8 races over the 6 days, the practice race was lost due to high winds, 3 races on Monday in force 5 gusting 6, 2 races on Tuesday in 6 gusting 7: survival conditions towards the end of the 2nd race. Boats pitchpoled and dismasted everywhere.

Wednesday was lost to force 8 winds, we went sight seeing Matt and Joe recovered from the previous night most of the morning!

Thursday was posponed for a couple of hours for the wind to reduce to 20 knots and 3 races were held in decreasing conditions. Friday delayed for thunder storm to pass but then there was no wind and after 4 hours afloat racing was abandoned.

Matt and Joe finished an excellent 23rd overall and we were happy with 53rd out of 109 starters both our boats finished all the races.

Full results and pics should be on the dart website soon
