RYYC Racing To Start in May.

The provisional calendar for both Dinghy and Harbour races has been published and it hoped to be able to confirm this soon.There is a significant amount of work to be carried out before we can go ahead with a full programme. Much of which depends on the members who wish to participate doing all they can to ensure a smooth start to a new season.

The Dinghy section has been busy preparing Blyth Park as a suitable Covid secure site and hope to be able to start racing on May 1st.

Harbour races need help with Buoy Laying, Hut preparation and positioning etc so if you are able to assist in anyway please come forward ready for Top Dog May 9th..

Every one who intends to race should let the club know by filling a Race Entry Form either Paper version from the office, pdf download from this site or bookable electronically via the portal. Whatever method you can enter at a reduced cost of £50 each for Season or Regatta. That is a complete years sailing for £100 per boat. It is essential we know before May which boats intend to participate and if you intend to sail in the IRC class.

David Stamford has organised a Touchscreen race control set up to simplify the recording and publishing race results. He will be manning the start station until such time assistant race officers have had time to appreciate the new methods. Volunteer helpers at the race station are to be welcomed and help with the usual flags. He is willing to demonstrate how easy the new methods are to any visitors to the race station during racing (observing sensible covid precautions).
