Andrew Osborne Rows the Atlantic

Andrew Osborne is rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic ocean, solo and unsupported, to raise money for the Amy Osborne Memorial Fund at the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young. He set off on his journey on his 22 foot rowing boat on 8th January from Pasito Blanco in Gran Canaria and is heading West with the trade winds towards Antigua.
Amy Osborne died in her sleep five years ago from an undiagnosed heart condition at the age of 25. She became one of the 12 young people who die each week in the UK from this cause. Like Amy, 80% don't experience any symptoms. Amy's memorial fund set up by Andrew's family at the charity CRY has so far raised enough money to pay for over 500 children and young adults to be screened as well as contribute funds towards research and raise awareness to help save lives. The money fundraised through Row For Amy will be used to test hundreds possibly thousands more children and young adults for undiagnosed heart conditions and consequently save lives.
He is currently 1200 miles from the finish. He has experienced 20 foot waves, bouts of seasickness, flying fish, huge pods of dolphins and a full capsize.
