Classic Dragon World Cup 2025 Flensburg, Germany

Twenty eight Dragons made the journey to Flensburg fjord on the Baltic. The event attracted professional teams and many from the international Dragon circuit. Team Ran (Crispin and Hugh Blyth, Charlotte Jones and Neil Paveley) was the sole UK representative.

Two days of racing were lost due to too little wind or too much. On day three there were three excellent windward/leeward races completed in winds around 20 knots. On day four a substantial increase in wind coincided with the start, leading to exciting racing in 20 knots plus. On the final run, the wind increased further to around 30 knots, the committee boat dragged its anchor and the race ended without a result - much to the consternation of those (including Ran) who had their best result wiped out. The first three places were taken by teams from Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark. Ran placed 11th.
