I am pleased to present to you the Programme of Events for the 2022 Annual Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club Regatta Week, which will take place from the 6th to the 13th August.

Class Racing will take place throughout the week. This year tide times have determined that we will only need to run racing over the tide on the Friday during which the Cruiser class will race a Coastal event and remaining classes will have a Bay Race. The Ladies/ Cadet Race for the House of Fraser Bowl will be run on the first Saturday morning immediately after the Fleet Review. The Guy Shackles Trophy Race will be run on the second Saturday and is open to all kinds of keelboats and dinghies.

The RYYC's Regatta Week is an open event and we are proud to extend a warm welcome to visiting yachts.

Bay race and windward leeward courses will be set from the pier end. Race Officer's briefing on the first Saturday at 14:00hrs in the front dining room.

Onshore activities during Regatta Week are always popular, varied and provide entertainment for everyone. A full social programme will be followed this year starting with our always popular Champagne Cruise on the Yorkshire Belle, A Visitors Wine & Cheese (Cocktail) Party, Country & Western Music night, BBQ at Blyth Park and the Friday evening's prize giving. The Highlight of the
Social events will be the 175th Anniversary formal dinner to be held at the Belvedere Golf Club on the Wednesday evening.

Regatta week is the highlight of the RYYC's year both on and off the water and this year promises to be exciting. I thank all Club officials and members who have given up so much of their time to organise this event. In addition, our gratitude is due to all sponsors especially ERYC for their kind and generous support and to the contributors to the Commodore's Regatta Fund, which collectively enables us to maintain the high standards that the RYYC has provided.

We have members, visitors, the format and plans for an excellent week and I very much hope that you will support the RYYC which will provide excellent racing, sailing and social activities.
