New RYYC Trophy for Sportsboats in Regatta.

Gerard Dyson brought this exciting new trophy to the last General Committee Meeting. The modern design is ideal for purpose and it is hoped it will encourage the owners of the lighter and more manoeuvrable craft to join the proposed new class in our 2020 regatta week. My attempt to take a snap of it during the meeting resulted in a rather blurred image. Gerard did much better and posted this image on Facebook so here it is sitting on its new oak plinth (courtesy of David Podmore). The General Committee approved the additional regatta class as well as the idea of splitting the regatta into two three day events so that boats can be entered for short events either the first three days or the last three days of racing.

Of course the full week regatta entry remains an option.
